Despite the best plans I could come up with, and even getting rush shipping so I would get my pass by opening day, the curse struck again keeping out of Splashtown for opening weekend.

No matter how I try, making it on opening day is just bad luck. Didn't care about the cold weather, I was going to Splashtown.

Well, I didn't make it. It was beyond my control and I certainly would have rather been floating in the wave pool but instead I was being spoken to with a Brivo CT315 machine's voice telling me when to breathe and when to hold.

So I don't have any pictures, but on the way home today I see the slide for the Brain Drain reaching up and around the Texas Freefall Tower! The capsules were not in place but they looked to be in pieces on top of the tower. The ride is an enclosed tube that winds around the tower.

I will have some pics this weekend but Houston's newest attraction is on the rise!

^Yeah, really great to see photos! Much thanks -

Splashtown was in need of some speedier thrills, and that area of the park was long overdue to have something to replace those old enclosed, high-g slides which used to be on the other side of the Texas Freefall tower.

(Haven't been to Splashtown since the Tornado debuted... Probably time to get back there, now that three more attractions have opened since then.)
